Why is it important to build relationships with media outlets?
Media relations shares your brand message through a third party outlet. These includes press releases, interviews, press conferences. This can be done through digital, printed, or TV outlets.
Media relations also involves building and maintaining relationships with media outlets. Most people think about major media outlets and get nervous. Let’s think about local media, as well as podcasts and blogs. Many communities are doing more to highlight local businesses. Where I live there is a business that goes around and highlights new small businesses in the area. Check with the media outlets in your community and see what they offer in regards to small businesses. Then work to build a relationship with them.
